Community Orchard
About the Community Orchard
Charvil’s Community Orchard was started in 2021, and the final trees were planted in December 2025, so we now have the full complement of 30 fruit trees planted in the open space at the rear of Charvil Village Hall.
Since 2021, we’ve been planting around 6 trees per year. Providing fruit from the 3rd year, we have now had some fruit for the last three years, although the persistent droughts of the past two years have hampered fruit production so far. We have varieties of apple, pear, plum and damson trees, as well as a quince and a medlar.
All our trees have been sponsored by local residents, and we are very grateful for their generosity over the last six years.
If you sponsor a tree, you can help plant it and look after it, or leave it to our green-fingered volunteers, who also use the rainwater collection tank at the Village Hall to keep plants hydrated in the summer months.

Parking Facilities
There are no parking facilities specifically for the Community Orchard, however, visitors may use the Village Hall car park when open.
Accessibility
There are no formal, surfaced paths to access the Community Orchard. The area can be muddy during wet weather.
Site Considerations
Please help us to keep the site clean, tidy and safe by following these rules:
- No dogs, except assistance dogs, are permitted in the Community Orchard.
- Please take litter home or use the bins provided.
- No fires or BBQs to be had on site.
- No drones or metal detectors to be used on the site.
- No camping/sleeping on site.
- In dull and dark weather make sure you have lights so you can be seen.
- Please report any issues such as vandalism, fallen trees blocking paths, or damaged furniture to the Parish Clerk
