๐Ÿšš Grove Service Station Update ๐Ÿšš
(Former Prince Bros Site)

Wokingham Borough Council (WBC) have informed us that they recently visited the former Prince Bros site on the Old Bath Rd following concerns regarding a material change of use (fuel storage and distribution) and building operation (storage tanks).

Council Officers from the Planning & Environmental Health teams have since revisited the site and can now confirm that fuel distribution is not currently taking place, and remaining fuel stored on site has been removed.

The Operator has asked WBC if they could continue with the plan to install an interceptor and making good of the existing concrete forecourt. WBC are expecting to receive a planning application for the site, which we will publicise via our social media channels, as we do with all planning applications within our Parish boundary.

The deadline for comments regarding the application for a Goods Vehicle Operators Licence has now passed.

The Traffic Commissioner has advised us that given the amount of interest in this case, they will consider it carefully, but they have limited powers. They will inform everyone who has contacted them with concerns with the outcome in due course.

Any further updates that we receive will be communicated through our normal channels, and this matter is due for discussion at the Parish Council meeting on Monday evening. All residents are welcome to attend.

๐Ÿ‚ Charvil Conservation Group ๐Ÿ‚

Last weekend, 5 volunteers from the Charvil Conservation Group to cut back the leylandii by the childrenโ€™s play area at The Hawthorns Park. Leydandii are invasive species and add nothing to the biodiversity of the area.

Thank you to them and to WBC's Countryside Service, who attended with a chipper to get rid of the waste. This has produced enough woodchips to use as a weed suppressant around the new trees planted in the Community Orchard last month.
